Jakob Flarer is the director of Saudades Tourneen, a booking agency based in Austria, founded in 1983, focusing on jazz, avant-garde music, improvised music, contemporary art music, NY Downtown, m-base, progressive jazz, and genre-crossing music. The agency provides artists with full-service, including booking, consulting, travel arrangements, pre-production, and tour financing.
Jakob Flarer’s roster consists of over than a hundred artists, including: Henri Texier, John Scofield, John Zorn, Johnathan Blake, Julian Lage, Laurie Anderson, Matt Wilson, Terri Lyne Carrington, as well as the Israeli musician Ofer Mizrahi which he discovered in the 2021’s IMSF edition. Saudades Tourneen GmbH currently arrange about one thousand concerts per year.
Flarer took part in the IMSF artistic committee for 2022.
