Argot Pictures, founded by Jim Browne in 2005, has distributed dozens of films, mainly focused on music documentaries, including, John Pirozzi’s Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll, Throw Down Your Heart, a documentary about legendary banjo player Béla Fleck, Vikram Jayanti’s The Agony & Ecstasy of Phil Spector, and Chulas Fronteras by legendary documentarian, Les Blank. Argot has produced many live musical events with screenings of these masterworks. Currently, they’re developing a touring, vaudeville-style revue that combines live music, film, and comedy, it’s known as the Grass Route Revue.
